Heat Pumps
Like solar collectors, heat pumps has a variable inlet temperature. Therfore, StratiFlex™ can be installed to avoid mixing of the different thermal layers during a heat pump charge, and achieve superior thermal stratification in the hot water storage tank.
Solar Thermal Systems
As the inlet from solar collectors has a variable temperature, our patented product – StratiFlex™ – is an excellent tool, to avoid mixing of the different thermal layers during a solar charge, and achieve superior thermal stratification in the hot water storage tank.
Space heating – return
Space heating from any heat source (oil, pellets, district heating, geothermal etc.) does not necessarily have a variable return temperature. However, the return water should never be applied to the top of the tank. The specific thermal layer in the tank, which has the same temperature as the return from space heating however, will be present in variable heights in the tank. A StratiFlex™ installed will make sure that the return water always finds its way to the correct thermal level.
Domestic hot water circulation – return
Larger supply networks (e.g. apartment buildings) will need circulation of the domestic hot water in order to offer the users furthest away from the heat source an acceptable temperature level. The return water will have same characteristics a needs for stratification as the ones mentioned for space heating returns.
